Trequanda is a very small village, that reflects in its strict and elegant architectures all the colours of the forests of oaks and beeches that encircle it. Far away from the tourist routes, the Tuscany of this corner of the senese countryside has attractions of art, culture and landscape, a that fascinate those who want to discover it. The ancient village of Trequanda, in the past completely enclosed by walls, had three doors. Today only two of them exist (Porta al Sole and Porta al Leccio), while the main one, Porta a Buggea, under the tower of the castle, has been destroyed. The purest Tuscany landscape, the typical products, as oil and wine, and the thousands traditions of this ancient land are melted in order to make of Trequanda a enchanted place.
Few kilometers away, there is Petroio, charming medieval village on a hill. The ruins of the old walls, the ancient houses and the palaces, the churches, the ladders that go up until the top of the tower, enclose a treasure. In Petroio, moreover, the Museum of the Terracotta can be visited, it testifies how an handicraft activity here has become an artistic expression.
